Despite occasional fluctuations, the sector has consistently played a significant role in Japanese agriculture, reflecting a robust and evolving industry that adapts to both domestic and global market needs.

From 1955 to 2022, Japan’s farmed chicken income peaked at 1.01 trillion yen in 1981. Since then, the sector has shown resilience, currently at 96.5% of its peak. The industry has evolved with advancements in technology and improved farming practices, sustaining near-peak levels.
