Abstract
Meat production in global agriculture is an important indicator, and looking at the trends and characteristics to date, China stands out as the largest producer. According to data for 2022, China’s meat production will reach 94.7Mt, accounting for the majority of the world’s total production. This indicates that meat demand is rapidly increasing with China’s economic growth and urbanization. In addition, China’s meat production is dominated by livestock breeding such as pork and chicken, which plays an important role in the agricultural sector. On the other hand, other countries also play an important role in meat production, with the United States and Brazil also attracting attention as large-scale meat producers. However, with growing concerns about the impact on the environment and the health effects of meat consumption, there is also growing interest in sustainability and alternative proteins. In the future, the pattern of global meat production may change while taking these factors into account.
Meat production (worldwide)
Meat production in global agriculture has undergone remarkable changes over the past few decades. In particular, meat production in China has grown significantly from 1961 to 2022, reaching 94.7 Mt in 2022. This is the result of a rapid increase in meat demand due to China’s economic growth and urbanization. On the other hand, as the figure of 100% compared to the peak suggests, the growth rate has slowed. This slowdown is likely due to various factors, including changes in economic structure, diversification of dietary habits, and increasing environmental concerns. China’s growth has also had a significant impact on meat production worldwide, with other countries being influenced by its trends. This has changed the geographical patterns and supply structure of meat production. Looking to the future, it is expected that the impact of population growth, changes in dietary habits, and increased awareness of the environment and health on meat production will become even more important.

Meat production (latest year, countries around the world)
It is notable that China is the largest producer of meat crops in global agriculture as of 2022. China’s meat production is 94.7 Mt, which is about 27% of the world total. The average production is 1.86 Mt, and the total meat production in the world is 356 Mt. Historically, China’s meat production has increased rapidly, but in recent years, the growth rate has tended to slow down. On the other hand, other countries also play an important role in meat production, and the United States and Brazil are also attracting attention as large meat producers. Global meat production is influenced by factors such as population growth, changes in dietary habits, and environmental concerns, and these factors are expected to continue to affect meat production patterns. With increasing interest in sustainability and alternative proteins, the agricultural industry needs to explore more efficient and environmentally friendly production methods.

Meat production (continent)
Asia was the largest producer of agricultural meat in 2022, reaching an all-time high. One notable feature is that the Asian region has emerged as the largest producer. This trend is likely due to the important role played by populous countries, especially China and India, in meat production. Another factor is the increasing demand for meat due to economic growth and urbanization throughout the Asian region. On the other hand, meat production also plays an important role in other regions, with the United States and Brazil also making their presence felt as large producers. Global meat production is influenced by factors such as population growth, economic development, and changes in dietary habits, and these factors are expected to continue to affect meat production patterns. With the demand for sustainability and alternative proteins also increasing, the agricultural industry needs to explore more efficient and environmentally friendly production methods.

The maximum is the latest one, 4.72G of Asia
Meat production (latest year, continent)
Looking at the production of agricultural meat in 2022, Asia was the largest overall, with a figure of 155 Mt. This is the highest production ever, indicating that Asia is emerging as a major region in agricultural meat production. The increase is due to the expansion of meat demand due to economic growth and population growth in Asian countries, including China and India. On the other hand, meat production also plays an important role in other regions, with the United States and Brazil being large producers. The average global production is 60.1 Mt, and the total is 361 Mt. The trend so far has been a sustained increase in global meat production, but there are differences in the growth rate by region. In addition, increasing awareness of sustainability and health has posed new challenges for meat production. Taking into account the demand for alternative proteins and the impact on the environment, the agricultural industry needs to explore more efficient and sustainable production methods. Factors such as population growth, economic development, and changes in diet are expected to affect meat production in the future.
