In South Sudan, agricultural production has faced various challenges, including low productivity and small landholdings per household. However, there are efforts underway to improve the sector, focusing on increasing access to quality seeds and supporting local agribusinesses. For example, projects like A3-SEED are working to establish a sustainable seed system by training farmers and increasing seed production. This includes efforts to mobilize seed companies, support agro-dealers, and improve the quality of seeds through training and quality control measuresUNDPIFDC HUB.Additionally, the ongoing development of seed trade networks and agricultural value chains is contributing to enhanced agricultural productivity and food security.
