There are some distinct characteristics when looking at agricultural profits in Japan by individual management and rice cultivation scale. Small-scale individual businesses have low profits and unstable profitability. On the other hand, large-scale individual operations have high labor productivity and tend to have stable profits. In terms of rice farm size, small-scale farms have high costs and low profits, while large-scale farms are cost-efficient and highly profitable. These data show that expanding agricultural scale and efficiency are important for increasing profits.
