In Japan’s single-family rice farms, the characteristics differ between corporate and individual farms. The corporate management utilizes large-scale farmland and adopts advanced mechanization and efficient production methods. This has resulted in increased profitability and productivity. On the other hand, small, individually owned farmers often practice locally based agriculture while maintaining traditional farming methods. In terms of scale of rice cultivation, large-scale operations maximize productivity, while small-scale operations involve a lot of manual work, making efficiency a challenge.
