Corporate management of field crops in Japan has its own characteristics depending on the region. Hokkaido is a large-scale industrialized area, and mainly produces wheat, potatoes, and beets. In the Tohoku region, in addition to rice, soybeans, buckwheat, and other crops are grown under corporate management. In the Kanto and Chubu regions, there are many corporate vegetable farms, particularly producing cabbage, lettuce, and tomatoes. In the Kyushu region, the production of fruits and sweet potatoes is managed by corporations, taking advantage of the warm climate. Crops suited to the climate and soil of each region are selected, and efficient management is carried out.
