In agricultural crop statistical surveys in Japan, rice is the main subject of surveys. The data includes planted area, production volume, harvest volume, and yield (harvest volume per 10 ares). In Japan, high-quality rice is mainly produced in areas with large temperature differences, and data on each variety is also collected. The survey also covers regional production conditions, the impact of climate change, and the adoption of agricultural technologies. In recent years, with the abolition of rice production reduction policies, attention has been focused on the balance between rice supply and demand and the production of high added value rice for export.
