Cut flower production in Japan is unique to each region. In the Hokkaido and Tohoku regions, lilies and asters are the main products and tend to be produced in large quantities. On the other hand, roses and tulips are widely produced in the Kanto region. In recent years, greenhouse cultivation in urban and suburban areas has increased and production has become more diversified. In addition, new varieties are being introduced and production techniques are being improved in response to changes in demand.
