The largest annual production of fruits and nuts in the United States is centered in California. The main fruits are apples, grapes and oranges, with annual production reaching billions of pounds. Among tree nuts, almonds stand out, with about 3 billion pounds produced annually and dominating the world market. Production volume is affected by weather and water resource conditions, and much of the produce is for export. The United States is a major producer of these crops, contributing to the global supply.
