The annual production of sweet potatoes in the United States has been steadily increasing in recent years. According to 2023 data, total U.S. crop sweet potato production reached 25.1 million centiweights (mcwt). This figure is likely due to advances in agricultural technology and improved cultivation methods. The climatic conditions in the southern states and California are particularly suitable, and most production takes place in these areas. Sweet potatoes are highly nutritious and popular with many consumers. Additionally, with growing interest in sustainable agriculture, farmers are increasingly adopting more efficient cultivation methods. Production volume is likely to continue to expand in response to growing demand.
Sweet potato production
