Among fruit vegetables, tomato is of global importance, with China, India and the USA being the major producing countries. Eggplant, peppers and cucumbers are also major fruit vegetables, with China, Turkey and India being the main producing countries. Climate, soil conditions and technological advances influence production, and imports and exports are also active. Efficient production is required from the perspective of sustainable agriculture and food security.
