World production and import/export rankings for carrots and onions

Carrots are widely cultivated around the world, with China being the largest producer, producing around 20 million tonnes per year. Other major producing countries include Russia, the United States and Uzbekistan. Carrots are rich in nutritional value, especially vitamin A. It prefers temperate climates and can be grown in a variety of soil conditions. It has a wide range of uses, including eating it raw, cooking, and processing, and demand is increasing as health consciousness grows.
