Abstract
China is the leading producer of melons in global agriculture. According to data from 2022, China’s production has reached 14.3Mt, far ahead of other countries. China is known as a region where melons are produced thriving due to its climatic conditions and advances in agricultural technology. In addition, a wide variety of melons are cultivated in China, and demand is growing both domestically and internationally. Meanwhile, other major melon producing countries include Spain, Turkey, Iran, and Egypt, but their production volumes are significantly lower than China’s. These countries also produce melons by taking advantage of the climatic conditions and agricultural technologies unique to their regions, but they do not match China’s. As for the trend in global melon production, China’s production volume is overwhelming, and other countries are under its influence. Although melon production in each country has increased slightly due to increased demand and the introduction of new cultivation techniques, it can be said that China’s influence is still large. In the future, melon production in each country may change due to increased demand and the effects of climate change, but at present China stands out as the center of melon production in the world.
Melon production (worldwide)
Melon production in global agriculture has undergone significant changes over the past 60 years. Of particular note is that China’s production reached an all-time high of 14.3 Mt in 2022. This shows that China is a dominant player in melon production. Considering the trends over the past few decades, China’s melon production has continued to grow steadily. Economic development and advances in agricultural technology have allowed China to increase productivity and expand its melon industry. This growth has played a part in China’s position as a global agricultural powerhouse. On the other hand, it is also noteworthy that other countries’ production has declined compared to its peak. While China’s production is at 100%, other countries’ production is not as high. This suggests that China’s competitiveness is becoming stronger and affecting melon production in other countries. Overall, China’s melon production is leading the global trend, and other countries are under its influence. In the future, factors such as changes in demand and changing climatic conditions may cause changes in global melon production, but at present, China is the center of melon production and its position is stable.

Melon production (latest year, world)
The 2022 data on the production of agricultural melons shows that China recorded an astounding figure of 14.3 Mt worldwide, the largest of the whole. The average production was 264 kt, representing the average production of each country. The overall total was 28.6 Mt, showing the total melon production in the world. The trends and characteristics so far include China’s overwhelming position in melon production. China’s production accounts for more than half of the total, significantly raising the average production of other countries. Advances in China’s agricultural technology and production systems support these figures. The production of other countries is relatively small compared to China and does not have a significant impact on the total production. However, due to the specific climatic conditions of each country’s region and advances in agricultural technology, the production is gradually increasing. In global melon production, factors such as changes in demand and fluctuations in climatic conditions may affect the production volume. In addition, production volume will also change due to new cultivation techniques and market trends. However, China’s characteristic of being the center of melon production in the world will not change, and its influence will continue in the future.

Melon production (continent)
The production of agricultural melons is expected to reach an astounding 21.9 Mt in 2022, the highest overall and the current peak. This data shows that Asia plays a central role in global melon production. A past feature is that the Asian region is important in melon production. Asia’s climatic conditions and advances in agricultural technology provide an environment suitable for melon cultivation, contributing to the increase in production. In addition, the demand for melons is expanding due to economic growth and population growth within the Asian region. Another feature is that melon production in Asia is overwhelmingly larger than that of other regions. Although other regions also cultivate melons, Asia’s production far surpasses that of other regions. Looking to the future, melon production in Asia is likely to continue to expand. Due to increased demand and technological innovation, the melon industry in Asia will continue to grow. On the other hand, risks such as climate change and natural disasters must be taken into consideration, but Asia’s characteristic of being the main player in global melon production will remain unchanged.

Melon production (latest year, continent)
The data on the production of agricultural melons in 2022 is interesting. This year, Asia recorded the largest overall production of 21.9 Mt, highlighting its influence. Considering that the average production is 4.76 Mt, it can be seen that melon production in Asia is overwhelmingly larger than other regions. A notable feature so far is that Asia has played a major role in melon production. Asia’s climatic conditions and agricultural techniques provide an environment suitable for melon cultivation, resulting in increased production. In addition, population growth and economic growth within the Asian region are driving demand for melons. On the other hand, other regions also produce melons, but on a smaller scale than Asia, and their impact on overall production is limited. Melons are cultivated in regions such as Africa, Latin America, and Europe due to their unique climatic conditions and agricultural practices, but their production volume is still far below that of Asia. In the future, melon production in the Asian region is likely to continue to expand. Due to increased demand and technological innovation, the melon industry in Asia will see further growth. On the other hand, risks such as climate change and natural disasters must also be taken into consideration, but Asia’s role as the world’s main producer of melons is likely to remain unchanged.
