Looking at data on fruit vegetables, especially cucumbers, in Japanese agriculture, we can see that the national harvest volume in 2022 will be 549kt, with a cultivated area of 9.77kha and the highest shipping volume in Miyazaki at 60.8kt. These data suggest that cucumber production in Japanese agriculture is thriving throughout the country, with Miyazaki in particular standing out in terms of shipping volume. In addition, a comparison of harvest yields and cultivated area suggests that efficient cultivation techniques and production systems may be being adopted. However, production volumes vary from region to region due to different climates and land conditions, and Miyazaki has the largest shipping volume. Technological innovation and improvements in production systems are expected to continue to be important in the production of fruit vegetables.
